Volleyball Try-Outs

I just have to post here to get this out of my system. :) My daughter had follow try outs yesterday and again today. At the end of today's try-outs they will find out who made the team. I am SO nervous for her!! I think I want her to make the team more than she does, lol! I remember playing volleyball in grade school/Jr High and I loved it! We play sand volleyball every week at my church and a group of my friends and I are joining a league in a near by town. I love volleyball!! So I really want her to make it. I pick her up at 5 from practice so keep your fingers crossed that she makes the cut!! :)

Boo to you....

Well, its Friday! Only a couple of more days before I start back to work. :) I am happy to be going back. I have enjoyed the last few days with no one here. :) I have been able to read 2 books.
When I made this card, I didnt have anything in particular in mind. Just wanted to create something. Cardstock is from Bazzill, patterned paper is from All my memories, ribbon is from Wal-Mart, and all the images are from TAC. I drew the "web" for the spiders in with my black prisma marker.
Everyone have a great weekeend and thanks for looking!! :)

Ahhhh, school is back in session!

The kids are back in school!!!! Yes! And I have done nothing but sit in my pj's and read my book today!! And I dont plan on moving, lol!! I took a whole roll of film this morning just like I always do. My 13 yr old started 7th grade at the JR/SR High School so she now rides a different bus than her brother. And its my 9 yr old's first year at his elementary school without his big sister. So its an adventure for everyone this year. I am excited for them to get home so I can hear how their day went.
I made this card using TAC's new paper line Hemingway along with the matching ribbon and embellishments. The images are all from TAC. I believe the violin image is retired. I really need to do a better job at keeping track of what I use while making the card so I can post all of that. By the time I get up to the computer, I forget. :) Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

Bella ATC

Good evening everyone. I hope everyone had a great day! I am getting the kids ready to go back to school tomorrow. Its about time for bed because they obviously arent used to getting up at 6am. My 13 yr old can usually sleep in until 7 because the bus didnt come until 7:50 last year. But this year, she is in JR high and the bus comes at 7:10. Way early for her!

This is an ATC I made for a swap. I forget the name of the Bella but I think she came out pretty cute! :) And just what all of us women like to do! Shop! Have a great night!

Happy News...

Well I tried loading a picture on this post but Blogger for some reason isnt letting me right now so I will post the card later today. But I still wanted to share my news. I got laid off from work a couple weeks ago. Yesterday my general manger called me to come in and talk and by the time the meeting was over, I had my job back. So I go back to work next week on Monday. Yea! I love my job and really didnt want to have to find another one so I am glad they called me back.

And also, I have changed my settings on this blog that anyone can post comments now. I didnt know there was a way to do that. But its now changed so comment away. :)

Beate's Sketch Challenge 15

I made this card for Beate's Sketch Challenge 15. The finished card size is 5 1/4" sqaure. Its a bigger card base than what I normally work with but with the sketch is was pretty simple to make. I used SU's Chocolate Chip cardstock, Basic Grey's "Hang Ten" pattern paper, TAC's Hemingway ribbon. The main image is from SU's Love and Courage set and the "many thanks" saying is from TAC. I used my paper piercer for a little touch in the corners of the main image and the ticket corner punch on the corners of the patterned paper. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

TAC's Mimi Paper

I made this card using the new TAC Mimi paper line. This is my favorite line so far. Love the greens and pinks together. This card started out for Beate's Sketch 15 Sketch Challenge but before making it, I neglected to read the card dimensions and just made a standard A2 card. That isnt the size its supposed to be so I need to make another one with the correct dimensions. It always helps to read the directions. :) But I still think this one came out very pretty. Cardstock is from Bazzill and DCWV and the pattern paper, ribbon, and images are from TAC. I'll be back soon with the sketch with the proper dimensions.

Happy Sunday....

Good morning everyone. I woke up to a chilly and dreary Sunday morning. Guess what I can wear? You got it, a hoodie! The windows are open, the air is off, and I have a hoodie on. What could be better?

I was cruising SCS the other night and saw this card in a gallery. So I had to make one for myself. The one that I lifted had the 3 white stripes up on dimensionals but I am out of those so didnt use them. The cardstock is Cool Carribean from SU. I miss that color and am so glad I stockpiled it. Images are from TAC and misc ribbon. I paper pierced across the bottom of the strip of cardstock. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

I am ready for sweatshirt weather..

Does anyone else love sweatshirt weather? I am a hoodie addict and love it when the time of year comes to pull them out of the closet and wear them. I have WAY to many of them but I cant quit buying them. The store Steve and Barry's opened up here a year or 2 ago and when they opened everything in the store was $7.98 and they had hoodies galore!! I spent $100 in there just on hoodies! I have a problem. :) Collecting hoodies is almost as bad as my addiction to collecting stamping stuff. I do that too. But I bet everyone that is reading this has that problem.

I made this card for a challenge on a yahoo group. Someone finds a card online and we all "lift" it and recreate it. I wish I could recall who's creation I lifted for this card but I cant. Sorry!! I do know it was from a gallery on SCS. Cardstock is all from SU. Images from TAC. I wanted to put the leaves up on dimensionals but I didnt have any. Thanks for looking and have a great Saturday!

Almost time to go back to school....

Less than a week and the kids go back to school!! Normally, it doesnt matter to me when the kids go back because I am normally working full time so I dont see them except for in the evenings. Well since I have been laid off, I have spent 24/7 with them. So I am definitely ready for school to be back in session! :) I took a little break from the kiddos today and made this quick card. I saw on another ladies blog about using Christmas paper for cards other than Christmas cards. So I decided to use this Basic Grey Christmas or Winter paper to make a summer card. I like how it came out. The base cardstock is SU's retired True Thyme along with the ink. Pattern paper is from Basic Grey and the images and saying is from TAC. Misc ribbon from Michaels. Thanks for looking!

Thank You Ami...And back to school stuff...

Thank you to my very good friend Ami for the beautiful RAK that she sent me. She's trying to cheer me up from being laid off. I have been a bit irritable since last Tuesday so this definitely brightened my day. And I think I am getting my mojo back for stamping. I actually want to go down to my room and make something so that's good.
Is August an expensive month for anyone else? I cant believe the money that I have had to spend in the last couple of days getting my 2 kids ready to go to school. Between physicals, glasses, school supplies, school clothes, pictures, sports passes, yearbooks, I think I am going broke. :) Glad this is only 1 time a year!

What a week this has been....

Its Thursday and I am so glad this week is almost over. I got laid off from work on Tuesday and have been lost ever since. I just dont know what to do with my time. I am so used to getting up and going to work that I dont know what to do. Can you believe that since Tuesday that I havent stamped one thing?? Its true. I just dont have any mojo.
I made this card awhile ago during a challenge on a yahoo group. The idea came from a stamper on SCS but I cant recall who. So I aplogize for stamp lifting and not giving credit! All images are from TAC. I believe the pattern paper is also TAC but I cant quite recall. :) oops! Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Happy Birthday Austin.....

Happy Birthday Austin! I cant believe its been 9 yrs since this little man has come into my life. He is my miracle baby. He was born at 26 weeks and really wasnt expected to live. He was born weighing just 2lbs 6ozs. He could lay in the palm of your hand. He spent 3 months in the hospital and came home 3 days before his orignal due date. The picture below shows him in the NICU at the hospital and then also some more recent pictures. I am off to clean up the house for the birthday party. His present is in the garage and I cant wait to give it to him. We got a great deal on a ATV at an auction yesterday so we bought him one. He is going to be thrilled!! Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Another Halloween share....

Yep, its another Halloween card. I know its only August but I just love making the cards. This is another 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 square card. This size is quickly becoming a favorite. All images are from TAC. Pattern papered is from All My Memories and the orange cardstock is Bazzill. I dont know how well you can see the witch image but its stamped with the Versamagic chalk pads. Then I added some prima flowers. Love the flowers!

Ahhhhh, its the weekend....

Good morning everyone. Its finally the weekend. :) Yea!! Yesterday was a very long day! My daughter had to go get her sports physical and also get balance testing. She has been getting dizzy for about 6 months or so. We went to the doctor back in May about it and he recommended an ear, nose and throat doctor and he said we should do this. During her sports physical, her regular doctor said that we should get an EKG and also an echo to rule out anything with her heart. Why they didnt do this back in May, I dont know. She had her EKG yesterday and it was normal. Her echo is scheduled on the 13th. Say a little prayer that everything is OK. She is worried he wont clear her for sports and if she cant play sports, Lord help me. :) During her balance testing she got so dizzy at one point that she actually passed out. Now that was scary! Seeing your child fall forward and slide down the wall. I was freaking to say the least! The wierd part was that she was only out for about 10 seconds and she said that she could hear everything that was going on but she wasnt responding to us or moving. I made this card using Surfafella. He is a fun guy to play with. I decided to go with fun, bright colors. I colored him in with my watercolor pencils and blender pen. I punched the sides of the patterned paper with the punch from SU. I think that gives it a fun little touch. The "Everyday Life" sentiment is from TAC and is stamped on chip board. Well, its time to get my Saturday going. Lots to do! Have a great day everyone!!

Boy is it hot today!!!

OMGosh is it hot today!! I really dont know what the actual temperature is but I know when I got in my car the outside temp said it was 101. I know it wasnt actually that hot but it sure feels like it. I hope it cools down before 7pm. Thats when I have sand volleyball at my church and I dont want to sweat all night! :)
This is a card I made using Wineabella. I love this Bella! The card size is a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 square card. This size is really fun to make. I used blacked striped patterned paper from All My Memories along with real red cardstock. As sually I colored in the Bella with my watercolor pencils and blonder pen. :)
I have to go get dinner ready for the family and then off to volleyball. Thanks for looking and have a great night.

Causeabella....

I havent made a card with a Bella in what seems like forever. Maybe thats because my dear friend Ami is holding them hostage. She has put a huge ransom on them that I cant afford. :) Just playing with you Ami! I made this card using Causeabella and I am sending it to my sister in law who was diagnosed with breast cancer a few months ago. The treatments are going well and she is doing good. I thought this might brighten her day. She said that no one else sends her handmade cards so she enjoys them when she gets them. I try and see her one every now and then. I colored this Bella in with my water color pencils and blender pen. I also used the new paper line from TAC. I think this is my favorite line. I love the browns, pinks and greens together. I added some prima flowers and viola. Well, I better go get some laundry done. Thanks for looking and have a great night!
